If you want to have some way to touch up your photo, these plugins can help you out with that. If you’re a professional, or just like doing it for fun, these plugins are for you. They’re free, and they can enhance your images like none other. From changing the hue, adding different effects, or putting text on them, they allow quick and entertaining ways to change up your photos.
ImageMagick: Sharpen Resized Images
When you resize your photos, you need to sharpen them. It’s one of the most important steps for any professional editor. With this ImageMagick plugin, you can do just that, all from the comfort of your WordPress dashboard. The app allows you to make default settings so that it will sharpen your images as they are uploaded to this page. It even keeps the crops and proportions that you’ve applied, so that nothing bad will happen to it.
This app is also easy to use. Just install it through the shell access if your hosting company has yet to install it. It may take a bit, but it’s definitely worth the trouble. It will give you some of the most professional quality around. You can even add some contrast to your images too. If your blog covers photo, whether you’re a photographer or not, it’s great for when you want to keep your photos beautiful no matter what the size.
POWr :Photo Filter
Image effects can make your photos look more unique, and can make a boring photo have more pizazz. Case in point, this POWr plugin allows you to add some simple, yet effective, effects to all your pics. While not the best when it comes to the amount of effects, it contains some of the most important effects that you need.
Using the sliding bar on the plugin’s settings, you can adjust your photo in every single detail. You decide it’s darkness, contrast, brightness, sepia tone, grey scale, and opacity. There are even more effects out there for you to choose from. You can even add animation, captions, resizing, and borders. All you need to do is add a short code to your page for it to work. Once it’s added, you edit your image by clicking on the new settings icon. After that, you will see a pop up window that allows you to edit your photo to its ideal settings, and then save it by signing up for an account that’s free.
However, there are a few strings attached. There’s a free version and a premium version. The free places a watermark on your images. You can adjust the watermark, but to get rid of it, you need the premium version. There are different options to choose from, and they all go for about a few dollars a month. It’s a small price to pay if you want some lite Photoshop effects on your pictures.
Aviary: Photo Editor
This one is most likely the best out of the three. Not only is Aviary easy to install and is user friendly, but it also contains the most variety when it comes to editing features. You can edit your photos in the media library, an in-line pop-up appearing so that you can edit them. Just enable the list view in your media manager, and you’re all set to go. You can find it in the top left corner, right above all your files in the library. When it’s active, you’ll see an edit button appear at the right side of each file.
